Ironman 70.3 Switzerland 2010: Cameron Brown – Kalt hier

(in englisch)

Cameron Brown:
Well I finally made it to Switzerland in one piece after some 24hrs of flying. I thought I was leaving the New Zealand winter behind but came to Zurich where it was only 16c and rain. It’s now getting warmer everyday and they are expecting 27-28c for sundays race.

It will be a tough race, not only with the competition but also the course. The swim will be very challenging with the water temperture only 14c! I had a ice cream headache after todays swim in the lake. The bike is also tough with the athletes taking on some good steep hills. The major climb heads up to an altitude of 730m, finally the run is dead flat except for a flight of stairs mid way through the 2 lap course.

World Half Ironman Champion Michael Raelert will start favourite and then there is defending champion and 3 x winner Ronnie Schildknecht from Switzerland. Former short course World Champion Olivier Marceau and a whole host of other great athletes fill the starting list.
