triathlon.de: Hi Tim and Mike, what´s up?

Mike: As you may know, Ironman Australia is on Sunday, and Tim is very focused for the race. He has had some good training sessions, and he is feeling that he is ready for the race. But he also acknowledges that there are a lot of good athletes in the field, including Patrick Vernay, Mathias Hecht, Tim Deboom, as well as Australians Mitch Anderson, and Jason Shortis.

Tim: So far this week the weather has not been ideal. We have had rain, on-and-off all week, and the ground is soggy, and the road surface is scattered with branches, leaves from the heavy winds, as well as potholes in the road. The local council has been great at clearing the debris and patching the the roads on a daily basis. We still have to deal with the mud and potholes down at Ironman Village, but those things are only nuisances for the spectators and Volunteers…

In the men’s field, you never know how someone’s preparation really is, because they all keep their cards close to their chest.
